Morgan Dollar

I am not an avid coin collector, but I have always liked old coins. Here is an old Morgan dollar. I'll have to take a picture of my 1944 Steel Penny one of these days. Just kidding, it is not one of the oh so rare, 1944's, it is a 1943 Steel (I wish it was copper) penny.

Interesting Coin

I really know very little about this coin. It is very worn as one can quickly see. I think it would be interesting to know the whole journey that it took before finally ending up with my family, especially when you consider it was around before the United States of America.

If you know anything about the coin feel free to comment. Here (translated from German to English) is the most I have found about it.

Ford Industrial Power

I was surprised to find that the backup power for this nursing facility was a gasoline powered Ford Straight Six. Prior to actually seeing it, I would have guessed it would have been a diesel. A quick flip of the switch and it came to life.

Hay Ring

The hay ring is actually broken and has been placed upside down in the snow.

Fast

A four wheeler can make for some fun in the snow. It can also be a FAST way to get around to take pictures in the snow.

Digging Out

Another 4-6 inches of snow in mid Missouri had me digging the car out again.

Snow Focus

My Focus was blanketed with Snow.

Cedar

Evergreen?

The snow blanketed the trees this weekend. It made for a pretty morning.

Cold Water

It was still cold out today, but this weekends snow was not as bad as the ice from the previous weekend.

It appeared the three men were trying to break some ice off of the tracks.

Icy at the Capitol

As they are all around town, the trees at the Capitol are ice covered do the the recent storms.

Passing Train

I heard the train coming and grabbed a quick pic as there was a slight flurry in the air.

Sledding

A lady brought her kid to sled on the Capitol lawn, but upon finding out that the slop was to slick to walk up she pulled her kid on the sidewalk for a bit.

Tree topper

My wife got a new topper for the Christmas Tree this year. In years past she has always gone with Angels.

Missouri River Bridges

The bridges over the Missouri River here in Jefferson City, MO, have been one of my favorite things to photograph over the years.

On the River

I snapped this as I was downtown by the city Christmas Tree. I believe they dredge sand from the river bottom for the local concrete company.

Ice

The result of one of three storms that made its way through Central Missouri this weekend.

BLVD Beer

Boulevard Beer out of Kansas Citys is one of my favorite breweries. I especially like their Bully Porter. Another favorite is cross state rival Schlafly in St. Louis.
